In 2015, Sumukh started his first company, Teendemy, aiming to bridge the gap between academic education and professional success through courses designed for teens. These courses all address key skills necessary to succeed in the 21st century skills, and focus on subjects that aren’t covered in modern education. Teendemy officially launched in 2016, and continues to grow every day.
Sumukh founded TEDxLynbrookHighSchool when he was a sophomore at Lynbrook High. TEDxLynbrookHighSchool branches off TED, and is an independently organized event designed to instill a love of learning, channel creativity to develop innovative solutions, and inspire through knowledge. TEDxLynbrookHighSchool started back in late 2014, and ran its inaugural event in September 2015. Preparations are underway for TEDxLynbrookHighSchool's second event in late 2016.
Thank Gosh It's Fresh is a radio show committed to giving teens a voice in the media. With media dominated by adult views and perspectives, TGIF aims to allow teens to speak out on prominent issues in the world, as well as issues concerning them. TGIF airs every Friday from 8-9 PM PST on 1170 AM, and features either a teen discussion, debate, or an interview of someone we feel is doing extraordinary things to help the world. Sumukh has been part of this program since back in 2013, and continues to take part today.
Above all, Sumukh is a student at Lynbrook High School dedicated to make an impact on society, and his peers in general. It's this motivation that inspires him to start many of his projects explained above. He hopes to major in business upon graduating high school.
